On April 14, 2025, Rongyi Steel held an unveiling ceremony for the “High-end Special Steel R&D Center” in Wuxi, Jiangsu. The establishment of the R&D center marks a new step in Rongyi Steel’s R&D capabilities in the field of high-end steel, and also injects new momentum into Wuxi’s efforts to build an “international advanced manufacturing base”.
The Wuxi R&D Center covers an area of about 10,000 square meters and is equipped with internationally leading experimental equipment and technical teams, focusing on the research and development of high-end special steels in the fields of aerospace, new energy vehicles and marine engineering. At present, the center has successfully developed a number of high-performance steels, including ultra-lightweight steels for electric vehicle battery shells and pressure-resistant and corrosion-resistant steels for deep-sea oil and gas extraction.
Dr. Wang Qiang, Chief Technology Officer of Rongyi Steel, said: “The establishment of the Wuxi R&D Center is an important step in our globalization strategy. In the future, we will continue to increase R&D investment and promote China’s high-end steel to the world stage.”
Relevant leaders of the Wuxi Municipal Government attended the unveiling ceremony and spoke highly of Rongyi Steel’s contribution to technological innovation and industrial upgrading.
